Yes. Yes. Yes.

At the EB Games Expo, I finally got the chance to get my hands on what will most likely be the best FPS of the year... for about 7 minutes. But you know what? I only needed 1 to tell you how amazing this game is going to be.

I'll get one small issue out of the way at the beginning: the loading screen. It was about 1 minute before it dissapeared. I'm not sure if that was the intention for purpose of the convention, but I was just frustrating. The mission we played involved us taking over an appartment complex with a mix of stealth and mortars, that is after we spent a good 2 minutes crouching on the ground before we could actually take control. Once we had, it came down to storming an apartment complex, mowing down any enemies in front of us.

There wasn't a lot of variety in the time I was able to play, however, and none of us were on for very long, so the focus will be on the gun play and presentation. This may come across as something you may have figured out yourself, but the game looks and feels near perfect. Every detail from the splashes in the water to the blood splatter made me feel like I was actually there. The gun play however did feel more like what we're used to from shooters these days. The mission we were given only had access to standard assult rifles and shotguns. It didn't feel special, more like a really well polished shooter experience.

But, like I said, we weren't given a lot of time and we weren't treated to some of the more spectacular set pieces or weapons, but you can tell that we're in for something special. It looks great, feels great, and that was just from 10 minutes or so of gameplay. Look forward to the full release on October 25th.
