Nintendo has announced a new title for the Wii U, entitled Mario Maker, which will allow gamers to create and play their own Mario levels. You may remember that the game was rumoured a short while ago - now it's been officially confirmed by Nintendo.
Mario Maker will enable users to design functional side-scrolling levels in both an 8-bit and new graphical perspective. Level editing functionality appears to be fairly deep, with the ability to place objects, such as pipes and blocks, and change their size and direction. The editing is all done on the GamePad, using the stylus.
As of now it has not been announced if Mario Maker will be a full release or just a digital Wii U eShop download, but we do know that it is scheduled to release in 2015.
