GameCube Inspired Fight Pad Coming in Time for Wii U Smash Bros - News

By Stephen C. Barrett, May 21, 2014

PDP (Performance Designed Products) has announced the "Wired Fight Pad" controller, which will be compatible with Wii U and Wii.  The controller's compatibility is identical to the Classic Controllers for the original Wii, in that it must be plugged into the Wii Remote's expansion port.  PDP previously created the Versus Pad for the original Wii (pictured in the banner image for this news story).

The Wired Fight Pad will be out this year in time for the Wii U version of Smash Bros. and although the controller has yet to be revealed, the best news is that its design will take inspiration from the original GameCube controller; a design which many die-hard Smash fans swear by.

Furthermore, thanks to an official license with Nintendo, the Wired Fight Pad will also feature a design theme featuring characters such as Mario, Yoshi and Princess Peach.

The Wired Fight Pad will be available in North America this holiday and will retail for $24.99.
