Ever since the release of Age of Empires II: HD Edition last year, speculation has run wild about whether Age of Mythology, an earlier entry in the much-loved and much-missed RTS series which featured beasts from Greek, Norse and Egyptian mythology, would be given the same treatment. The game was finally teased a little over a month ago, and today details have been released for the first time.
Like last year's AoE II HD Edition, Age of Mythology: Extended Edition features graphical improvements, Steamworks integration, and support for mods from the Steam Workshop.
It also includes the game's only expansion, The Titans, which adds the Atlanteans to the roster of races, as well as a campaign dealing with their story, and features integration with popular video game streaming website Twitch.
Pre-purchasing will be available from "early April," and the game is currently set to be released this May.
