Since its announcement, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has been riddled with both controversy and mystery. Before its release it was receiving a lot of press due to its short runtime. Many reports said it would only take 2 hours to complete. Today, the game was released and a majority of reviewers are stating that it will take 2 hours to complete, although it has plenty of replayability. On average, the game will keep you busy with 8-10 hours of content, if you choose to go back and try a different strategy.
Eurogamer's YouTube Editor Ian Higton has taken a different approach. He wanted to know how fast he could get through this already short game. In his spoiler-filled video he sprints, shoots, skips cut-scenes, and disregards the side-missions to complete the game in an impressive 10 minutes.
Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear's creator, has been quoted as saying: ""I believe people will be satisfied with the 'Play Time' of GZ and will not stress the 'Clear Time,' which is a standard for linear games."
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes released today on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
