If sources speaking with TechCrunch are correct, Amazon's rumored video game console could stream full PC titles. This would, in theory, allow the system to compete directly with Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as PC download services like Origin and Steam.
Games that will be available for streaming are described as "top-tier," although no specific games were mentioned. According to the report, they will be streamed using Amazon's services and will run at 30fps. Amazon already has an extensive network of high-capacity servers across the country, which are currently used to power its various digital content and cloud-based music and video services.
The site's sources also said Amazon's rumored console will have a design similar to Google's Chromecast--meaning it will plug into your TV via a dongle.
Amazon has yet to comment in any way regarding its rumored console. However this report, followed by leaked images of Amazon's gaming controller and Amazon's recent purchase of Double Helix Games, are only further pointing to Amazon jumping into the gaming market.
