Watch Dogs, Ubisoft's much anticipated open-world title, will release on May 27th it was announced today. The game features Aiden Pierce, a young man who has the ability to "hack" into the all-seeing security system around the city of Chicago in an attempt to bring down the system.
The game was initially supposed to release in November of last year for PS3, 360, Wii U, PS4, Xbox One and PC, but was subsequently pushed back in order to be polished further. In addition, it was revealed earlier this year that the Wii U version of the game will release at a later date, so that the team can focus on the other versions first. As of right now, there is no confirmed release date for the Wii U version, but I'd expect it to be out a few months after the other versions.
Watch Dogs looks like a very interesting concept, but the delays and other news about the title (such as the Wii U delay) has dampened my enthusiasm somewhat. Hopefully Ubisoft can prove once again that the game is worth getting and see some success from this promising project.
