Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall is one of this year's most anticipated games for PC and Xbox One, but the identity of the studio handling the Xbox 360 port has bizarelly been a mystery. Until today, when earlier this evening Respawn founder Vince Zampella posted on Twitter that Bluepoint Games would be porting the next-gen developed title to Xbox 360.
Bluepoint Games is perhaps best known for their HD remasters of PS2 classics, with their work on the God of War Collection, The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection, and the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection being high benchmarks in how to do great HD remasters. Their most recent project was porting Flower over to PS4 and PS Vita, and their sole original game is 2006's PS3 downloadable title Blast Factor.
Titanfall, however, will be the first of Bluepoint's ports to be going back a generation. It'll be interesting to see how Bluepoint brings a game being touted as a true next-gen experience to nearly decade-old hardware.
Titanfall was the game that was going to make me break and pick up either an Xbox One or a capable gaming PC. But with Bluepoint Games on board, that transition might be further out than expected.
