Team Ninja's Yosuke Hayashi has confirmed that the developer is working on a Ninja Gaiden sequel during a discussion with legendary developer Keiji Inafune, who is the producer of the upcoming spin-off game Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.
"Team Ninja is thinking of the next Ninja Gaiden,” said Hayashi, "For example, if the games were food, the Ninja Gaiden series would be a rich meaty entree and Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z would be dessert. Every course of the meal would be in the same Ninja Gaiden world, but gamers will experience different kinds of play. That’s how Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z will be different."
Inafune teased that he'd let slip that they were working on a new Ninja Gaiden. "So to the people waiting for that next Ninja Gaiden, it’s coming", he confirmed.
Inafune's Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is set to release on February 28th in Europe and March 4th in America next year.
