The beloved Blue Bomber of Capcom is back once again. This time, instead of joining the cast of Super Smash Bros., he's getting his own board game. Mega Man The Board Game was launched on Kickstarter yesterday by Jasco Games (yes, they have a contract with Capcom that allows them to do this), asking for $70,000. The Kickstarter crushed the goal a few hours after launch.
As of right now, the campaign has gone through six stretch goals, and is sitting at $191,000 (with the number still increasing greatly) with 36 days left.
The regular edition of the game will cost you $70, and will include Elec Man, Ice Man, Fire Man, Bomb Man, Guts Man and potentially more Robot Masters if certain stretch goals are hit. The Deluxe Bundle at $140 will include everything in the regular edition, as well as Oil Man and Time Man pieces. Along with that, all bonus stretch goals will be added to the Deluxe Bundle and tiers above that.
Due to their contract with Capcom, the game will only be released in North America, but depending on the funding reached a release outside of North America is possible. So while it’s not a new Mega Man game, at least between this and Super Smash Bros. we know that Capcom hasn't forgotten about Mega Man, and might begin to realize that people want more of him.
