The Pokemon Company released a statement announcing the release date for Pokemon Rumble U. The next title in the toy-Pokemon series will be releasing August 15th in Europe and August 29th in North America.
Pokemon Rumble U introduces Near Field Communication technology to the series, allowing players to scan in figurines that summon Pokemon into Pokemon Rumble U (similarly to Skylanders and Disney Infinity).
In North America, the game will cost $17.99 and be available on the Wii U eShop. Figurines will run you $3.99 each and be exclusively available at GameStop. The initial release of 18 figurines includes Pikachu, Victini, Deoxys (Normal Forme), Eevee, and Genesect. Pricing for the game and figurines in the European market have not been announced. Also noteworthy is that it will not be necessary to buy any figurines to play the game.
They'll look like this.
Personally, I'm hoping that it will be a better game than the last entry in the series.
