The makers of the widely heralded LittleBigPlanet series have pegged October 22nd as the release date for their newest creation, Tearaway. In this PlayStation Vita title, protagonist iota or atoi must navigate through a world constructed entirely out of paper in order to deliver a special, unique message to you, the player.
And Paper Mario enthusiasts everywhere rejoiced.
First announced at Gamescom back in August, Tearaway makes full use of the Vita’s arsenal of features. A new video on the official PlayStation Blog shows off the touch screen, rear-touch panel, camera, microphone, and gyroscope all being used to manipulate the world and solve puzzles. The numerous visceral inputs are designed to blur the line between the world inside and outside the Vita.
Also unveiled was a reversible piece of box art, featuring both iota and atoi, providing a small added incentive to pick up a physical copy of the game. The characters certainly appear to borrow artistic inspiration from their tactile friend, Sackboy.
