During Nintendo's Miiverse panel at the Game Developer's Conference, we were finally updated on the status of the Miiverse app that will be coming to our smartphones and PCs. Fans of the Wii U will be glad to know that the Miiverse is finally breaking free from its console-only confines.
Miiverse producer Kiyoshi Mizuki stated that the application should be available sometime in April or May. A 3DS version of the Miiverse is still in the works, though no launch timeframe was mentioned during the panel. Mizuki did however state that some existing 3DS games would not include Miiverse functionality straight out of the gate. No specific titles were mentioned.
In related news, it was also announced that more Miiverse updates are on the way. Increased functionality is said to include the ability to link to certain spots of a game in a post. This feature will allow followers to quickly access that part of the game, assuming they have made it that far. You will also be able to follow and reply to other Miiverse users from within a game.
