Yacht Club Games - a developer formed by ex-WayForward staff members - has been making a bit of a buzz with their first title Shovel Knight. It is a 2D platforming adventure based upon the 8-bit NES era. Yacht Club Games describe it as a mixture of old and new that "may remind you of Mega Man,Castlevania, or Dark Souls".
Long story short, you play as a knight who attacks with a shovel.
Shovel Knight had originally only been confirmed for a PC release but if you follow them on Twitter you would have seen this.
Which if you look closely at the banners, display the Steam, Wii U, and 3DS logos. Of course, this all depends on them actually reaching their Kickstarter goal of $75,000. At the time of writing it has $32,180 so far with 25 days to go. So check out the trailer below and if you like what you see, go ahead and dig (sorry) into your wallet.
