Movie adaptations of video game series rarely go well, even when the subject matter seems to have a story that could stand on its own without gameplay to support it. TV adaptations are considerably rarer, and where they have existed (mostly in the 1980s) they have been almost exclusively embarassingly terrible.
Well, all that could change if what appears to be a TV series based on the Fallout series of post-apocalyptic RPGs is indeed a real thing, as suggested by this patent, filed today (January 16th) for:
"Entertainment services in the nature of an on-going television program set in a post-nuclear apocalyptic world"
The fact that it is filed under the mark "Fallout" leaves little ambiguity as to its nature, even if you ignore the post-nuclear apocalyptic setting that is a hallmark of the Fallout franchise.
It appears very likely that this is legitimate, so perhaps we should focus on hoping that the silent protagonist remains silent.
