Apple has awarded Rayman Jungle Run as the best iPhone game of the year.
Apple gave out various awards for all of the apps released in 2012, and Ubisoft's spin-off of Rayman Origins took home the prize as best iPhone game. Interestingly, Apple awarded a separate award for best iPad game: The Room, the hauntingly creepy puzzle game that I would totally play if I owned an iPad, darnit.
Given the critical praise it's earned since its release this September, Rayman Jungle Run certainly seems like a good choice against some pretty solid competition this year. Since we're not giving out best mobile game for our Game of the Year awards later this month, this seemed like a good time to throw some credit over to Ubisoft's way.
