With a new month comes a new selection of content from Sony's premium online service PlayStation Plus. Most notably, 2011 FPS Bulletstorm and 2009 survival horror TPS Resident Evil 5 will be available to download free of charge from 10th October, replacing story-driven adventure TPS Red Dead Redemption, open-world sandbox Saint's Row 2 and co-op action puzzler Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. They can be played as long as you remain subscribed to PlayStation Plus, and can be downloaded at any time if you have downloaded them before, even after they are removed from the Instant Game Collection.

Also joining the service is PSN platformer Hell Yeah!, which is available a week earlier, on 3rd October. The following discounts will also be available:
- 3rd October: Spelunker HD – 50% off the full game and 50% off various DLC packs for two weeks
- 10th October: Derrick the Deathfin – 30% off
- 17th October: Dogfight 1942 – 50% off a bundle including the full game and two DLC packs
- 24th October: Hell Yeah! Wrath of Dead Rabbit – 20% off DLC packs
Note that this is the European PlayStation Plus selection. The range in other regions may differ slightly.
