The first part of a trilogy of background story trailers, entitled The Tales from Dunwall, has been released. It is presented in an artistic and sombre style, and voiced by Chloe Grace Mortez, best known for playing Hit Girl in the movie Kick-Ass.
The mostly hand-drawn episodes are created by animation company Psyop, who then used technology to enhance the images.
Part One tells the story of Esmond Roseburrow, a philosopher who causes an industrial revolution by his discovery of the effectiveness as a power source of whale oil, and how his great discovery was corrupted. Without further ado, the video:
Dishonored will be released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 9th October in North America and 12th October in Europe.
