It's a good day to be an adventure game fan. Revolution Software, developers of Broken Sword and Beneath a Steel Sky, have announced a sequel to Beneath a Steel Sky, following the release of Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse.
Revolution previously announced they would make a Beneath a Steel Sky sequel if they met they reached $1 million for their Kickstarter for The Serpent''s Curse. Despite having failed to do so (it's okay, they still met their $400,000 goal), they're moving ahead with the Beneath a Steel Sky project anyway.
"We're delighted by the recent level of interest in a sequel to Beneath a Steel Sky and are currently discussing design ideas for this project, which we plan to go into development following the release of Broken Sword - The Serpent's Curse," said Revolution co-founder Tony Warriner. “We're deeply touched that our Steel Sky fans are as enthusiastic today as they were when the original game released in 1994."
While no official release date has been announced, Barriner has confirmed that the project is in development for iOS, Android, PC, Linux, and OSX platforms, with the possibility of a console version in the future.
