The Last Express, the classic 1997 point-and-click adventure title, finally has a release date for its long-awated iOS port, coming to iPhone and iPad September 27th.
The brainchild of game designer Jordan Mechner (best known for creating the Prince of Persia series), The Last Express stood apart from other titles with its unique art style and its story that unfolds in real-time; side-characters will move about their own lives regardless of player's actions. The game also featured a time-travelling rewind and fast-forward mechanic, which would show up again in Mechner's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
Despite critical acclaim, the title was met with poor sales. Hopefully The Last Express can find a new audience when it hits iOS devices this Thursday. Here's the launch trailer.
