UPDATE: We now have an English version of the trailer we posted yesterday, which gives us a little more insight on just what the game is about. Check it out:
Original Story: It's a good time to be a Metal Gear fan. A couple weeks ago, series creator Hideo Kojima revealed the next main entry in the series, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. Of course, Konami won't let that steal thunder from Platinum Games' spin-off Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which got a new trailer at this year's Tokyo Game Show.
Unfortunately, the entire trailer is in Japanese, meaning English-speaking Metal Gear fans will have to wait until an English version of the trailer comes out (or for a friend to translate it for them). Still, we can infer a few interesting things from the trailer. This is our first full glimpse of "White Raiden", with Raiden in an outfit more resembling his Metal Gear Solid 4-era attire. Chronology, ths could mean that parts of Revengeance could potentially take place between Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4 (the original timeframe of the game when it was in development as Metal Gear Solid: Rising, before getting cancelled and rebranded).
On top of cryptic story hints, the trailer also offers the full-on, free-cutting action that has come to define the game. Judging from this trailer, Metal Gear Rising looks like it is easily deserving of both the Metal Gear brand and the Platinum seal of quality.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance releases February 19th, 2013 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Be sure to check out our preview here.
