The PlayStation Mobile store, formerly known as PlayStation Suite, and rebranded at E3, will be launched on 3rd October 2012, in North America, Europe and Japan, according to GamesIndustry.
The store sells PlayStation content compatible with PlayStation Certified smartphones. This currently includes several Sony Ericsson Xperia devices, all phones from the HTC One series, and a few handsets from Wikipad and ASUS. Sharp and Fujitsu have recently been added to the list of hardware companies working on PlayStation Certified phones. All content is also playable on PlayStation Vita.
The service will launch with 30 games, ranging in price from 63 cents (38p) to $10 (£6.60), a similar range to games developed for existing smartphone markets. The SDK is available to developers on a licensing agreement for $99 per year. Sony claimed at E3 that 56 development studios were working on content for the service.
PlayStation Mobile has been in open beta since 19th April.
