Some concern was expressed in America and Europe because the Wii U GamePad was not announced as a standalone item in those regions. Now comes word that if your GamePad is damaged, it can be repaired or replaced...for an undisclosed fee. This suggests that Nintendo will be charging you to repair their expensive tablet controller whether you are within the warranty period or not. The fee is unknown, but since Nintendo is selling the GamePad for about $172 in Japan, the repair likely will not be cheap.
So remember, once you get your hands on that GamePad, keep it in your hands at all times! And do not even think about throwing it at your TV! Learn from the mistakes of 2006!
