BioWare Hints at New Mass Effect Game, New DLC - News

By Arthur Kabrick, September 18, 2012

Today has been a big day for BioWare, with the retirement of its co-founders Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka. As if to assure their fans that it is still business as usual at BioWare, the company has teased the existence of a new full Mass Effect game:

"The Mass Effect universe is vast, and Casey [Hudson] and our teams have plans for another full game," says Aaryn Flynn, general manager of BioWare Edmonton and Montreal."Where to go next with such a project has been a question a lot of us have been asking, and we’d all love to hear your ideas". He goes on to confirm that Casey Hudson remains in charge of the series. BioWare has earlier stated that the continuation of the Mass Effect franchise was a very open possibility, but that Commander Shepard, the protagonist of the original trilogy, would not feature in any future games. No further details on the game, or on any official survey regarding ideas for the game, have been released.

BioWare also announced that Omega would be the name of the next single player DLC pack, and will release "in the Fall."

Flynn ended his post with a tribute to Zeschuk and Muzyka: "To the Doctors: I wish you the very best, and we will always honor your legacy. The games we develop will always share your unique creativity and steadfast integrity.

Now it’s up to us to show the world what you taught us. "
