The era of Kickstarter continues at full bore, as Obsidian's newest game, Project Eternity surpassed its $1.1 million goal after just one day.

Obsidian promises a return to more classic RPGs such as Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment with Project Eternity. It has a "tactical real-time with pause system", where setting up your party's position in battle will be key to victory. Also mentioned is a world ripe for exploration, deep character dialogues and a mature story presenting the player with complex and difficult choices.

As of now, the game will include three races, five classes and five companions, but Obsidian promises to add more as the Kickstarter reaches certain levels. Also included in those goals are Mac and Linux versions of the game. Given how fast the initial goal was met, I expect all of these stretch goals to be met very soon.
